Housing Associate – Overnight 11p-7a

Description
Under the direction of the Director of Housing, the Overnight Housing Associate is responsible for awake and alert supervision of the house with up to 8 temporary residents (members), maintaining proper security measures in place (locked doors, responsibility with equipment and appliances. Adherence to house rules to include completion of assigned member chores;
be able to perform administrative duties as needed)
House Associate Duties:
Provide excellent house supervision
- Greet each associate or member with a smile and welcoming, professional manner
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public
- Using House Log, document information on calls received where required and maintain detailed account of activity in house during shift;
- In event of any phone calls overnight, attempt to provide clients with correct and accurate information regarding TEF services and direction to TEF website;
- Communicate important (as determined) information to housing director, and/or Office Manager or Executive Director through TEF email and/or reach out by text or phone if matter is considered urgent or emergency;
- Document and refer unusual or difficult situations to supervisor
- At all times maintain member confidentiality, speak in quiet, professional tones at the desk with colleagues and clients and behave appropriately for key visible position
- Answer each phone call in a cheerful and professional manner
- Be discrete when obtaining sensitive information from existing or potential members
- Perform reception duties in an efficient, professional and courteous manner.
- Attend quarterly staff meeting to address status of house and forum for ideas and issues
Performs other related job duties as required
- Some general computer experience (Google platform) required; others a plus;
- Willingness to work with a diverse member and associate population including people of color, transgender and gender nonconforming people, member ages ranging from students 18+ to older adult, as well as others in LGBTQIA2S+ community
- Calm, patient, flexible, and understanding manner
- Ability to work harmoniously and effectively with colleagues, members, and clients across the spectrum of diversity, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, color, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic status, national origin and immigrant status, religious or spiritual identity, disability (physical, mental, emotional and developmental), veteran status, and/or limited English proficiency.
- Willingness to contribute towards TEF efforts in promoting a culture dedicated to ongoing development in service of equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging, where differences are acknowledged and valued.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous successful experience in small group supervision
- Bilingual Spanish/English a plus (not required)
- Knowledge of business procedures
- Experience working with an ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse work staff and membership (including up to 8 people residing at house for varying times up to 12 months)

Salary Description
$23.00 per hour overnight pay differential (position generally at $21.50 during all other dayparts with expectation of a 32 hour work week. A this point in time, compensation is paid weekly (open to change)
