Trans Emergency Fund Summer Internship: Uplifting Trans People of Color in the Workforce
DESCTIPTION
The Transgender Emergency Fund of MA (TEF) has dedicated itself towards serving low income and unhoused members of the gender nonconforming community since its founding in 2008. To best serve the Massachusetts community TEF has operated a mutual aid program that served to connect individuals to resources and direct aid. TEF also operates the only transitional housing program made solely for the gender expansive community in New England. We’re launching a new Internship with us at Trans Emergency Fund that aims to provide meaningful work experience to new professionals as they seek to expand their professional development and community connections.
The Internship is a part of a greater initiative to Uplift Trans People of Color in the Workforce, and is broken down into three parts.
Part 1) Setting in and learning how a program like Trans Emergency Fund operates. Gain casework, counseling and social work experience as you support our Mutual Aid and Transitional Housing program. Receive meaningful feedback on resume development, interview skills and networking.
Part 2) Delve deeper in TEF’s operations and attend community events in support of TEF’s mission. Gain support from TEF’s full time staff in developing your own project proposal that aims to uplift low-income and unhoused Trans people in Massachusetts.
Part 3) With support from TEF’s team you will execute your project.
*Project proposals can be wide and varied, from events, systems or community based projects as long as the result aims to support TEF’s mission statement of uplifting the low-income and unhoused gender expansive community in Massachusetts
